The initiative from players and Club to support the burnt daycare, and from anyone who has a dream to defend

"Only the one who dreams can fly", said Peter Pan. This is why today, in the home match against Virtus Francavilla, Palermo players, for one time, "give up" their own names on the t-shirt and substitute it with the name of one of the most famous characters in literature of all time, loved by entire generations of children and adults.

The occasion is the criminal act which, in the past few days, set on fire and completely destroyed the Peter Pan daycare, located in the San Giovanni Apostolo neighbourhood in Palermo. An act of violence and abuse already condemned by the institution and all the honest Palermitan citizens. And now also by Palermo, with a symbolic gesture which the rosanero players decide to carry to the field all together, all the same, in the name of anyone, inside or outside of a stadium, who fights to defend a dream. The dream of a healthy, civilized society, sheltered from vansalism and criminal intimidation. But also the dreams of a sport which never stops fighting, believing until the end, to reach an objective. And also, this way, the dream of a fan who gets up again after a disappointment, and believes with all his heart in the success of his own team. A universal message, which anyone can make their own, because it has to do with hope, self-confidence, and teamwork to reach a common objective beyond individualism.

Being Peter Pan and saying #siamoaquile, today, means making the words from the tale our own: "the moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it. The reason birds can fly and we can't is simply because they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings" (J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan).
