Following the prohibition on the sale of tickets for the Sudtirol-Palermo match to residents in the Region of Sicily, Palermo FC wishes to express its strong disappointment, already communicated to the competent authorities, regarding the timing and manner of a measure that penalises Palermo fans less than 48 hours before the start of the match, although it cannot comment on the content of the order.
Fans are the only protagonists of football: for this unexceptionable reason, it is necessary to demand a greater sense of responsibility in the application of principles, in line with the widespread need to ensure ever greater participation by Italian sports fans in new, state-of-the-art stadiums. Depriving fans of the opportunity to attend a match is not a solution but, on the contrary, the very negation of those same principles. This is even more serious if it ends up humiliating those who no longer have the time or opportunity to repair the commitments they have made.
The rosanero Club does not and will not condone any disrespectful behaviour towards the sacrifices made by families and fans, who travel thousands of kilometres and invest time and money to support their team of the heart.
But the heart will always win.
