The day after the match against Catanzaro at the Barbera, Palermo FC finds itself compelled to acknowledge, with extreme disappointment, statements made to the press by individuals who were not even present on site, which completely distort the reality of the regrettable events that took place in the VIP stand.
This was a deplorable scenario, first provoked and then triggered by the unjustifiable conduct of members of Sporting Director Polito’s family, extensively documented by numerous video testimonies, which are already being assessed by the Public Security Authorities and the Sporting Institutions. It is now up to them to establish the facts and assign all responsibility.
The assaults in the stand, together with the acts of vandalism recorded and reported to the competent authorities in the dressing rooms and technical areas of the stadium, are events that have never occurred in Palermo and are far removed from the principles and spirit of this club and this team, which have always approached every away match and welcomed every opponent with the utmost respect for rules and people.
