Palermo FC and coach Filippo Inzaghi were awarded the Paladino d’Oro today at the Palermo CFA in Torretta, as part of the 45th Paladino d’Oro Sport Film Festival – Don Pratelli Award, the oldest sports film festival in the world, created by Sandro Ciotti and Vito Maggio in 1979, scheduled to take place in Palermo from 1 to 7 December 2025.

The awards were given by the festival president, Roberto Oddo, and the artistic director of the event, Stefania Tschantret, to Palermo FC for the club’s 125th anniversary and to Inzaghi for his career. The award for the rosanero Club was received by Chief Operating Officer Francesco Barresi.

“This award is a tribute to the history of Palermo and to all the people who, over the years, have supported its journey – said Palermo FC President Dario Mirri  – . Celebrating the club’s 125th anniversary by receiving the Paladino d’Oro is an honour that we want to share with our city and with the fans, who accompany us every step of the way with their passion. I would like to thank the Festival for recognising the value of this milestone in our history and for the sensitivity with which it continues to recount the beauty of sport through cinema”.

“It is an honour for us to present our prestigious awards to Palermo FC and coach Filippo Inzaghi – said festival president Roberto Oddo – . The club’s 125th anniversary is a prestigious milestone that we are happy to celebrate together, as we did for the club’s 90th anniversary when the association that organises the festival held a photographic exhibition. Furthermore, Inzaghi is an example of commitment and dedication, values that the Paladino has promoted through cinema since its foundation“.

“We are grateful for this prestigious partnership with Palermo FC – adds the festival’s artistic director, Stefania Tschantret – and I would like to thank the club’s CEO, Giovanni Gardini, for this wonderful opportunity to celebrate the festival’s 45th anniversary and Palermo FC’s 125th anniversary together. It is a perfect combination to promote the values of sport, which I hope will continue over time with many other wonderful initiatives, between two entities that represent the city of Palermo and Sicily in the world”.

Palermo FC is an event partner of the 45th Paladino d’Oro Sport Film Festival – Don Pratelli Award, which takes place from 1 to 7 December at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa – Officine Ducrot, with free admission, and includes a packed schedule of screenings (with seats available to book at www.paladinodoro.it), meetings with sports and entertainment personalities, a round table discussion on “Cinema, Sport and Health” and a photographic exhibition celebrating the festival’s 45th anniversary.

During the same period, the event will host the “Palermo 125” photography exhibition at the same location, organised by Palermo FC with the support of the Municipality of Palermo and curated by the Ruber Contemporanea association. A pink carpet will retrace the 125-year history of the Rosanero Club, with some of the most iconic photos from the history of Palermo and Palermo.

The event will close on Sunday 7 December at the Teatro Politeama Garibaldi in Palermo with the grand gala for the Paladini d’Oro awards, which will be broadcast on Monday 15 December at 10.45 p.m. on RaiSport, the event’s media partner.
