Palermo FC is a partner of the seventh edition of ‘Palermo in Rosa’, a recreational and sporting event that combines sport and civic engagement to say ‘no’ to violence against women and femicide. The event, scheduled for Sunday 23rd November in Palermo, precedes the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and aims to paint the heart of the Sicilian capital pink with a message of hope, solidarity and awareness.
An opportunity for collective participation and social inclusion open to everyone – women, men, families and schools – to remember that the fight against gender-based violence is a shared responsibility.
In the month of celebrations for the 125th anniversary of Palermo FC – which have coloured the city pink as a sign of identity and community around the iconic colour of the city’s team – the meeting between the two entities seems more natural than ever. This is also in view of the rosanero Club’s long-standing commitment to combating all forms of violence against women, with initiatives and activities already dedicated to the issue, using the healthy values of sport as an ethical response to this social emergency. For the occasion, the Club will promote the initiative through its official channels and involve representatives from its Youth and Women’s Sector in the event.
