A journey there and back: from our roots to the present, from Palermo to the United Kingdom. Palermo FC will support Non League Day, an initiative launched in England over 15 years ago to celebrate and champion grassroots and semi-professional football. The project encourages fans to spend a weekend closer to the game, experiencing the passion of lower-league clubs during the break in professional competitions.
Now a regular fixture in the football calendar, Non League Day returns during the spring international break — the final pause before the season run-in — on the weekend of 28–29 March. For the first time, the rosanero Club is joining this international initiative, placing its British roots back at the centre while strengthening its connection with English football culture. This initiative has also been made possible thanks to the valuable support of “Il Calcio Inglese“, the leading Italian social community for fans of football across the Channel.
As part of this journey, Palermo has built a special friendship with two historic London clubs: Corinthian-Casuals FC, one of the oldest clubs in London currently competing in the ninth tier of English football, and Dulwich Hamlet FC, a South London side playing in the Isthmian League Premier Division (seventh tier), widely recognised for its strong community values and cultural identity.
Both clubs, not by chance, are featured inside the Palermo Museum within the “Pink Around the World” installation — a wall dedicated to teams across the globe that share Palermo’s iconic colour. A unique and distinctive element that also inspired the Club’s “P-ink it” marketing campaign during its 125th anniversary season.
Embracing in Non League Day represents another step forward in Palermo’s growing international outlook — one that honours its origins while building meaningful relationships beyond Italy.
The initiative begins in England and lands in Palermo following a similar model. The Club is inviting its supporters to back the many grassroots teams across the local area — clubs that carry forward their sporting projects with passion, sacrifice and a strong sense of community.
