PUMA and Palermo FC today unveil the new Third Kit for the 2025/2026 football season, which will be worn by all the rosanero teams: men’s, women’s, and youth squads.
The new Third Kit is a tribute to Mondello, the seaside heart of Palermo, and a historic fishing village full of tradition. It is one of the most beloved places for Palermo locals, celebrated here for its natural and architectural beauty and deep-rooted connection to the city’s identity.
The exclusive pattern, designed by PUMA for the occasion, is inspired by the sinuous shapes of the Art Nouveau architecture found in the historic bathing establishment and the elegant villas that dot the area. Hidden within the graphic motif is also a nod to the twin-tailed mermaid statue in Piazza Mondello—an iconic symbol of the coastal district and local culture.
The colors of the Third Kit reflect Mondello’s imagery: Team Light Blue evokes the sea and its foam, Desert Dust mirrors the pale sand that gives the water its transparent appearance, and Dark Olive represents the lush vegetation of Monte Pellegrino, which rises majestically over the gulf. Design details such as the crew-neck collar and the word “Mondello” placed on the back add further character.
But this is more than just aesthetics. With this kit, PUMA and Palermo FC aim to raise awareness among fans and the wider community about the importance of protecting and enhancing the region’s natural wonders—starting with the sea. To support this goal, the club has partnered with the Department of Earth and Marine Sciences at the University of Palermo and with the organization Mare Memoria Viva, which runs the Palermo Sea Ecomuseum. The collaboration includes educational workshops, pollution monitoring initiatives, and public awareness campaigns promoting ecological best practices for protecting the city’s coastline.
In recent years, the issue of marine pollution along Palermo’s coasts has worsened. Recent studies by the University of Palermo (Unipa) have recorded over 10,000 pieces of macro-litter, the vast majority being single-use plastics—especially on public beaches. These findings show that a lack of regulation and cleaning leads to the buildup of pollutants. The new Palermo jersey is intended to be a true manifesto for ocean protection—an appeal to everyone.
Palermo FC’s new Third jersey features a regular fit and combines 100% recycled polyester fabrics with PUMA’s advanced dryCELL thermoregulation technology—a moisture management system that ensures optimal body temperature. Ideal for both match days and everyday wear, the jersey is made with PUMA’s innovative RE\:FIBRE recycling technology and contains at least 95% recycled textile waste.
The new Palermo FC Third Kit is available starting today online at https://store.palermofc.com and at selected football retailers.
