Palermo FC is delighted to announce its partnership with Sicily by Car, which will be the Club’s new Main Partner for the 2025-2026 season.
The Palermo-based company, a leader among the main operators in the short- and medium-term leisure car rental sector, will be the only brand featured on the official Palermo jersey in all the men’s First Team’s sporting commitments starting in July 2025. The Sicily by Car logo will also appear on the front of the women’s First Team jerseys and all the men’s and women’s youth team jerseys, confirming the desire to build a cross-cutting project with an eye to the future. This partnership stems from a shared vision: to promote regional excellence, both on and off the pitch. It is the beginning of a journey that starts in Sicily, with the ambition to go further and further, facing new challenges and overcoming obstacles with determination and a sense of belonging.
“The partnership between Sicily by Car and Palermo FC stems from a common denominator, which is love for the city. Supporting the team that represents it, which embodies the energy and spirit of Palermo, is a duty towards all those who proudly claim their sense of belonging – said Tommaso Dragotto, President of Sicily by Car – . I am convinced that the team, like Sicily by Car, is destined for new and ambitious goals that will raise the city’s profile even higher”.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sicily by Car alongside Palermo FC – said Giovanni Gardini, CEO of Palermo FC – . We share with the company an international outlook and a heart deeply rooted in the territory. This helps to develop the brand’s ability to fully embody Sicilian identity while also striving to go beyond all boundaries. Having the Sicily by Car logo on our shirts means telling our fans and anyone watching us from around the world, match after match, a story of shared growth that starts in Palermo but looks far ahead with ambition and pride”.
Sicily by Car, an Italian company listed on Euronext Growth Milan in 2023, was founded in 1963 from an idea by its current president, Tommaso Dragotto. The company has a widespread distribution network throughout Italy, with 57 operating offices in all airports, as well as in the main tourist destinations and city centres of Italy’s largest cities. The company, which still has its headquarters in Palermo, now has a fleet of around 20,000 vehicles and over 600 employees in Italy and abroad. Since 2023, the car rental company has increased its international expansion with the aim of covering the major European capitals. The company is already present in Albania, Malta, Croatia, Spain, Portugal and, thanks to commercial partnerships, in France, Austria, Poland and Montenegro. International expansion is the main driver of growth: the company aims to establish a presence in the Iberian Peninsula, Northern Europe and the Balkans, which are the first steps in a five-year plan to expand across Europe on a large scale. SbC has entered into B2B partnership agreements with the largest international brokers capable of guaranteeing worldwide coverage of car rental services. The Group has developed a growing focus on ESG issues, which have led to the gradual conversion of its fleet to green vehicles (today, approximately 40% of the entire fleet and 64% of the recently added vehicles are low emission) and the total energy independence of its headquarters through the installation of a photovoltaic system capable of generating 187 KW.
Sicily by Car (SBC:IM, ISIN IT0005556581) is one of the leading operators in short-term leisure car rental, a brand of excellence capable of competing with major global players in terms of service quality, fleet size and geographical presence. Its international expansion is based on the following strategies for the creation of a pan-European network under the SbC Europe brand:
- Commercial PARTNERSHIPS with local players: a pioneering business model that provides for expansion across Europe through a “network” of local agencies and brands;
- ACQUISITIONS of foreign companies operating in the same business sector;
- GREENFIELD entry into high-potential countries through the opening of proprietary stations.
